History of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival
- 1991
Founded in 1991, the first Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival spanned over 4 days, with 9,500 patrons, 25 musical acts and 17 venues - 1992
First big top tent venue in year 2, 1992 - 1993
Grand Opening of Harvest Central, first CD compilation (of the 1992 Festival, and birth of the Festival's own Harvest cocktail - 1997
Debut of the famed Mojo Tent, premier of the nightly pass and the must-see nightly impromptu jam sessions were finally put on the program - 1997
This was also the Year the Ultimate Pass was born - 2000
A staggering amount of community members volunteer for the Festival. In 2000, 400 people volunteered, a five-fold increase from 1991. - 2000
First street closure - 2001
The debut of Kidsfest (now known as Congo Square), a family-oriented day-long event of music, cultures and fun activities - 2005
