Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a volunteer, you are the heart of our great event. Your commitment and hard work make the festival succeed and your smiles and friendliness help us all shine. Thanks for giving your time for this year's Harvest!

Volunteer Conduct and Responsibilities

  • As a Harvest Jazz and Blues Volunteer you must agree to attend mandatory training.
  • Always be friendly and courteous to patrons, performers and other volunteers.
  • If you have any questions or if any problems arise while volunteering please report such questions or concerns to your manager immediately.
  • If you are unable to make your Shift - Please be sure to send regrets as soon as possible online. If by chance you cannot make your shift on the day you are scheduled to volunteer - please send regrets to: volunteers@harvestjazzandblues.com.
  • Volunteers may be asked to perform additional duties, depending on specific needs during the venue shift.
  • Volunteers are expected to work the entire shift as assigned - we know these shifts are long.
  • Respect property belonging to the Festival and its sponsors at all times.
  • Jam tickets will be passed out after venue clean-up has been completed.
  • The selling or passing of volunteer passes or jam tickets is prohibited. You will be required to have both your volunteer pass and jam ticket for admission to the jam session.
  • Volunteers are requested to enter the venue by the main entrance at all times.

Alcohol Policy - Our event must function within the liquor laws of New Brunswick. We ask that you adhere to these policies at all times:

  • Only non-alcoholic drinks will be sold to or purchased by a Volunteer while wearing a Volunteer T-shirt or Pass.
  • During their shifts volunteers are prohibited from consuming alcohol.
  • During their shifts volunteers are prohibited from being under the influence of, possessing or selling illegal drugs.
  • It is prohibited by law to free pour or give free drinks or drink tickets.

Failure to comply with the above could lead to the relinquishing of volunteer T-shirt and Pass, being asked to leave, and restricting ability to volunteer at future Festival events.

Above all, our goal is to ensure that everyone gets the most enjoyment out of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. Working together, we can guarantee it!
